Sports played a pivotal role to build a healthier society. There are several sports around the globe among the Football/Soccer is one. Football has around 3.5 billion fans in all over the world. There are so many football legends who rule the hearts of people among them Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Messi etc.
Football started in ancient times but as a documented proof football was played in 1308 in Ireland. First football World cup took place in Uruguay in the year 1930, the final played between Uruguay and Argentina in which Argentina was defeated by Uruguay with 4-2 score. Now football’s biggest event will begin on Nov 21, 2022 with opening match of Senegal vs Netherlands in Doha Qatar. In FIFA World cup 2022, 32 teams across the globe are participating, France will defend title of 2018 Champion.
Pakistan has great talent of football but unfortunately we are unable to utilize this talent and did nothing for infrastructure of football yet due to our Geo – Political issues. Football also suffered a lot like other sports. FIFA also suspended our membership few years before due to irregularities in game’s promotional funds, now few weeks before FIFA revived our membership. It is also a pride for Pakistan that Pakistani Made ball will be used in FIFA World cup 2022. Karachi area Liyari is full with sports talent among them football is on top. During FIFA World cup daysLiyari portrays like a festival, buildings will be again painted with favorite team flags, special LEDs will also be installed for the matches, and it will be just like an Eid Occasion.
Pakistan Govt. and Sports board should take some vital steps to promote the game as it’s a world passion and we should not be deprive our youth to showcase the talent in front of world stage.
