I want do dedicate this quote of an American Author Andrew Vachss “Journalism is protection between people and any sort of totalitarian rule. That’s why my hero, admittedly a flawed one, is a journalist” to his supremo intellectual Mr. Ayaz Amir who was attacked by the unknown attackers in Lahore which was a heinous act to mute the loud voices of Journalists.
Pakistani Journalists are moiling against hooliganism but State have no interest to do enough for their safety. Mr. Ayaz Amir is a renowned name not only among Pakistani journalists’ fraternity but also an accredited person internationally, attack on him not only infuriated common Pakistani but also chill the bone marrow of whole Pakistan’s Journalism.
Pakistan is portraying as State within State where nobody is safe. Whether Journalist, Social Activist or a common man, when came out from their houses, their beloved ones have fear in their minds and hearts that they may not be attacked by any unknown person/attacker.
One should take stand and say enough is enough against these coward acts. Pakistan time and again is turning as no man’s land for Journalist and their families. Missing persons list is increasing but State is at sleep. Last day witness live hearing of missing Journalist Mr. Mudassar Narru who was astoundingly mislaid few years before, his wife also has passed away in his affliction, while his old mother along with Narru’s 5 year son Sachal whom questioning eyes waiting for his father but State have no answers. We heard slogans like “State will act like a Mother” but practically State acts like a Step Mother.
With closing quote of Scott Mescudi “Some humans are really bad at being human.”
Long Live Pakistan!
